Press Council Always Plays Balanced Role

Reform has fueled growth of mass publications in Indonesia, says Abdullah Alamudi, a senior member of Indonesia’s Press Council. Within four years of the reformation that began in 1998, more than 1,800 mass publications had entered the market. Five years on less than 1,000 of them were still in print.
